At 15:30 hours on the 12th of September 2025 officers received a distress call from one of the National Police Air Service Helicopters. Upon arriving, officers discovered the helicopter burnt out and the wreckage found in between a small wall and a warehouse. Officers attempted to approach the helicopter but it was unstable and was still dangerously hot. At approximately 15:33 a Major Incident was declared by an RTPC Sergeant. LFB, LAS and HEMS all worked together to extricate the one casualty from the wreckage and after around 10 minutes of advanced treatment and life saving measures, miraculously the casualty had survived and has been transported to hospital, believed to be in a critical condition.

Statement from Scene Command:

"Our brave emergency services attended this incident and worked together as a unified force to make this incident safe and prevent harm to the public. My best wishes go out to the family of the NPAS flight officer and to anyone who has been affected by this incident. Investigations are ongoing and it is certain there are no further casualties or damages other than those which have been recorded."
