Active Shooter On The Underground

At approximately 20:55, armed police received an urgent report of active shots fired within Westminster Underground Tube Station, prompting an immediate and coordinated response. Tragically, it was confirmed that three members of the public had been shot dead in the incident. Police, took swift action to ensure the safety of others in the area.
Upon receiving the shots-fired alert, British Transport Police, in coordination with the National Railway Agency, implemented a full hold on all Tube services entering and leaving the Westminster station, effectively halting all movement in and out of the area to prevent further casualties. This also allowed emergency services to respond to the scene without risk of additional threats.
Firearms Officers (AFO), supported by a Trojan Firearms Support Dog (TFSD) team, swiftly breached the Tube station, firearms drawn. After clearing the area and securing the station, the officers managed to arrest one male, who they believe to be the shooter. The individual was detained without further incident. Upon arrival, AFO units confirmed that no further active shots were being fired, and the situation was brought under control. Despite the initial panic, there were no additional suspects found on the scene.
The Metropolitan Police have stated, after reviewing CCTV footage of the shooting, have confirmed that there are no outstanding suspects at this time. Investigations are ongoing, and the police are working closely with the relevant authorities to piece together the full details of the incident. However, all Tubes will still be place on hold within Westminster. The tragic loss of life in this event is deeply felt, and the police are providing support to the families of the victims and ensuring that all necessary steps are being taken to understand how this could have occurred.
