Chaotic London Car Park Fire Sparks Major Incident
At approximately 22:30 on 20/04/2024, the London Fire Brigade received multiple calls relating to a fire in an underground car Park at Postal 665. Upon Arrivals at the Scene Crews were faced with a ferocious fire, caused initial by one vehicle which resulted in the destruction of multiple high end vehicles. Police Officers attempted to clear the car park also found their vehicles caught in the blaze with the destruction of two police vehicles and an AA recovery vehicle.
Firefighters began watering down the vehicles, however it became apparent that there were multiple casualties trapped inside the car parking facility, London Ambulance Service Control was contacted and it was requested for London Ambulance Service, Hazardous Area Response Team & HEMS Critical Care Paramedics to attend. Further to this the on-duty Command from London Ambulance Service was also tasked with the call.
A Major Incident was then declared by London Ambulance Service, Metropolitan Police & London Fire Brigade. Two casualties were treated by London Ambulance Service, Multiple Road Closures were put in place by Road Traffic Officers & Response Officers whilst London Fire Brigade Focused on Knocking back the flames.
Unfortunately despite best efforts, Sadly one patient was declared deceased, His Family has been informed and our thoughts go out to the family and friends of those effected.
