Grove Street Shootout
On the afternoon of January 28, 2025, armed police were called to the scene of a violent altercation involving multiple men shooting at each other around the Grove Street area. According to police, the incident was a clash between two rival gangs: the "Lost MC" and the "Grove Street" gang.
Initial reports indicate that the gangs were distinguishable by their attire: members of theLost MC gang were marked in Black, while the Grove Street gang sported Bright Green clothing. The altercation began with approximately 15 individuals, all armed with handguns, engaging in a firefight in a highly populated residential area. Upon arrival, armed officers encountered a chaotic scene of gunfire.
Despite their swift response, the situation quickly escalated due to the large number of individuals involved and the intensity of the firefight. In the midst of the conflict, several officers were injured by gunfire, and the police were outnumbered. In response to the escalating violence and the significant risk posed to public safety, a Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officer (CTSFO) was drafted in from an unrelated surveillance operation targeting a separate compound.
The CTSFO, who had been monitoring the area, was immediately redirected to assist with the situation in Grove Street. The deployment of the CTSFO, who are specifically trained for high-risk, tactical operations, was instrumental in regaining control over the scene. However, the gunfight persisted for several minutes, with both gangs reportedly continuing to fire indiscriminately, further endangering civilians in the vicinity. Just before the shootout took place, a photo by the Grove Street gang members was trending on a social media app called "pmp snaps".
The photo shows multiple men who where holding firearms with the caption "Lost MC... Who even are you..". This social media activity is now being investigated as part of the ongoing efforts to identify the individuals involved and disrupt the flow of gang violence in the area. The police are continuing to investigate the incident, and efforts are being made to track down the individuals responsible for the shooting. Public safety remains a priority, and law enforcement is urging anyone with information about the event or the individuals involved to come forward.
