Major Crash on the M25

On the morning of Wednesday 24th April 2024, emergency services were called to the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the M25, after a vehicle overturned in a live lane. It is understood that a member of the public lost control of their car, which subsequently flipped and came to rest on its roof. Due to the severity of the incident, the Fire Brigade was deployed and carried out a complex extrication, using cutting equipment to safely remove the trapped individual from the wreckage.
Specialist units from the Roads Policing Team (RTPC) and the Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) attended to manage the scene and begin an investigation into the circumstances leading up to the crash. Medical teams from NHS Clinical services and the NHS Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were also on scene, providing immediate medical care to the casualty before they were transported to hospital.
Motorists experienced delays as traffic management was put in place during the emergency response and investigation. Authorities are continuing to look into the cause of the incident.
