Major warehouse fire in Tower Hamlets

Late into the evening on Friday, multiple assets from LFB, HART, and ERT were deployed to a warehouse fire in Tower Hamlets. Upon arrival, LFB crews made entry into the building and located one individual trapped inside and engulfed in flames. Firefighters rapidly extinguished the fire surrounding the individual and extracted them for treatment by HART and LAS.

Fire crews continued to push through the building, preventing the flames from spreading to neighbouring properties. At 21:49, firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control. Paramedics were able to revive the individual found inside, who was transported to Mt Zonah via Helimed due to the severity of their injuries.

Initial enquiries with the individual suggested the warehouse may have been involved in illegal substance production, although this remains unconfirmed at present. Police will continue further enquiries and forensic evidence gathering, and the area will remain closed for the time being.
