This evening the Control Room received multiple reports of a tragic incident that occurred at the newly opened river bar at postal 164. According to witnesses, a boat lost control during its journey down the river, colliding with a stationary boat near the bar island. In response to the emergency, the London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade were swiftly dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, the severity of the situation requires further assistance, leading the London Ambulance Service to request support from Helicopter Emergency Medical Service and Hazardous Area Response Team. The accident had sparked multiple fires across the island, extending to the wooden furniture of the bar and the involved boat.

The London Fire Brigade, worked tirelessly to extinguish the ongoing fires, while the Hazardous Area Response Team focused on securing the casualties and transferring them to their colleagues in the London Ambulance Service. Tragically, a total of nine patients were recovered from the scene, with two having been in the river water.

Regrettably, one casualty was declared deceased on scene. Our deepest condolences go out to the family affected by this unfortunate incident. The remaining eight patients were transported to the hospital for further medical attention. As the situation continues to unfold, we will provide updates on any developments.
