NPAS Mayday

Today at 16:20pm, the police helicopter NPAS was deployed to assist with a burglary in progress in the Mirror Park area. Local Emergency Response Team (ERT) officers, Response Traffic Police Cars (RTPC), and Matrix officers all responded to the call. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located a white Ford Focus RS, which was intercepted and the driver detained on suspicion of burglary.

While this operation was ongoing, the pilot and co-pilot of the police helicopter declared a mayday emergency. The helicopter subsequently made an emergency landing on the M25 motorway and was reported to have caught fire. Fire brigade units, along with the London Health Services (LHS) and LHS Hart units, attended the scene to manage the fire and treat any casualties.

At this time, no official statement has been provided regarding the cause of the crash or the exact number of casualties involved. Further investigations are ongoing.
