At approximately 12:20pm, the London Ambulance Service received a 999 call reporting that a construction worker had fallen from a crane. Paramedics and a Clinical Team Leader arrived on scene by 12:23, where a primary assessment was immediately carried out.

Following the initial survey, the Clinical Team Leader requested a Critical Care asset through Red Desk Control. The unit arrived on scene at 12:25. The patient is currently in critical condition at Mount Zonah Trauma Centre.

A Clinical Team Leader provided the following statement: “At 12:20, our control room received a 999 call regarding a male who had fallen from a crane at a construction site. I, along with a double-crewed ambulance, was dispatched to the scene. At 12:24, I made a request for a Critical Care asset, which fortunately was nearby returning from another call and arrived less than a minute later.

Given the nature of this incident, I am extremely pleased with the conduct of the paramedics involved. I can now confirm that the patient remains in critical condition at Mount Zonah Hospital, where he is awaiting life-saving surgery. We wish him and his family all the best.”
