Police Tactical Stop Leads to Arrests in Drug Investigation

On 23/03/2025 at approximately 18:52, officers from the Matrix Enforcement Team (MVET), also known as the County Lines Task Force, were deployed to assist Road Policing Units in an ongoing pursuit of a vehicle suspected of being involved in the transportation of a significant quantity of controlled substances. The vehicle had failed to stop when directed by police and was being actively pursued. Due to the nature of the incident and the risk posed to the public, a tactical stop was authorised.
MVET officers strategically deployed a stinger device, successfully deflating all four tyres of the suspect vehicle.
The vehicle was brought to a controlled stop shortly thereafter, and officers swiftly moved in to detain the occupants. Two males, aged 23 and 25, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug supply offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 3x small duffle bags filled with a white powder what officers believe to be coke cain, which were seized as evidence. Both suspects were transported to Vinewood Police Station for questioning, where they remain in custody. Enquiries are ongoing, and forensic examination of the recovered evidence is being conducted.
