On the 27th of April 2024, a police-operated prison transport vehicle was involved in a serious road traffic incident on the M25 motorway. The bus, which was carrying approximately six prisoners, tipped over under circumstances that are currently under investigation.

The incident triggered an immediate and coordinated multi-agency response. Armed Firearms Officers (AFO), the Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC), London Fire Brigade (LFB), the National Health Service (NHS), the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), and Emergency Response Teams (ERT) were swiftly deployed to the scene. Emergency services worked rapidly to secure the area, provide medical assistance, and ensure public safety.
