Urban Exploration Incident Prompts Multi Agency Response in London

At approximately 16:30 on 9 January 2026, reports were made to the control room of a male trapped at the top of a construction site with no safe way to descend. A response policing team arrived first, followed shortly by a pump appliance mobilised from Whitechapel fire station. Two ambulances were also dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters from London Fire Brigade located the male stranded at the top of the site and climbed the structure. Upon reaching the level, it was discovered that the male had slipped and fallen from the top. The HEMS trauma team was called to attend shortly afterwards. A collaborative effort between all emergency services enabled the male to receive urgent care.
The incident is now under investigation and police are promoting awareness of the dangers linked to urban exploration.
