London Fire Brigade

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) plays a vital role in protecting London's communities, responding to emergencies, preventing loss of life and safeguarding property. As a firefighter within PoliceMP, you'll work alongside fellow crew members and other emergency services to tackle a wide variety of incidents, ranging from structural fires and road traffic collisions to water rescues, rescues from height and other specialist emergencies.

Being part of LFB offers the opportunity to experience a completely different side of emergency services within PoliceMP. You'll have access to a range of specialist fire appliances, uniforms, equipment and rescue vehicles, each designed to support different operational requirements. From operating fire engines and tackling dangerous fires to providing casualty assistance and supporting complex rescue operations, no two deployments will necessarily be the same.

Firefighters are expected to work effectively as part of a team, maintain clear communication and make decisions under pressure. Working alongside the Police, Ambulance Service and other emergency response teams, you'll play an important role in coordinated multi-agency incidents, ensuring that scenes are managed safely and casualties receive the assistance they need.

LFB operations may include:

Firefighting: Responding to residential, commercial and industrial fires, working to contain and extinguish fires while protecting life and property.

Road Traffic Collisions: Attending serious collisions, assisting casualties and supporting vehicle extrication where individuals are trapped.

Water Rescue: Responding to incidents involving rivers, canals and other waterways, assisting with searches and rescues.

Rescue from Height: Carrying out specialist rescues involving buildings, elevated structures and difficult-to-access locations.

Hazardous Materials: Supporting incidents involving dangerous substances, chemical spills and other hazardous environments.

Special Service Incidents: Responding to a variety of emergencies requiring specialist equipment, technical knowledge and coordinated response.

Multi-Agency Operations: Working alongside Police and Ambulance colleagues to manage complex incidents and protect the public.
