CIDs deals with investigations into serious crimes. These count as robberies, burglaries, sexual offences, fraud, serious assaults and murders.

An Authorised Firearms Officer (AFO) is a police officer who has been selected, trained, accredited and authorised by a Chief Officer to carry a firearm operationally.

This team will comprise of all response officers when they leave the Police College. The ERT will be run by two Inspectors, and five Sergeants.
